Long time, was passed 20 years since communism collapsed in Germany, when the Berlin wall, which was considered as a wall which divides the proud East and West Germany and separating families and loved ones, destroyed demolished residents. It happened just 9 November 1989. To commemorate 20 years of the fall of the Berlin Mauer, so crowded events in the city of Berlin. One is the Berlin Wall Trail (TBWT), which is around 50 km along the path where the Berlin Wall once stood.

The German government was well aware, there are so many questions about, “Where the hell is the Berlin Wall used to be?” The program was held TBWT so that pedestrians and cyclists can easily run along the wall in the former path. The reason, in the spirit of hate, 20 years ago, German citizens want to remove their worst period so that the wall separating a historic Berlin barely left. In order to preserve the memory and history of atrocities against humanity, the Berlin Senate decided to make the point to trace the history of the border.

That happened in early 2000. Furthermore, the construction of the Berliner Mauerweg (Impressions of the Berlin Wall) was built in 2002 and completed in 2006. “Regional Representative Council” Berlin supports the plan through a resolution to continue the path of pedestrians and cyclists along the 160 km of where the wall once stood on West German territory as well as linking the border points that still allow. All transportation was adjusted to the new track making it easier for visitors. Last year, the project continued to improve tourism point of the Berlin Wall history.

“In essence, a total of 160 km along the Berlin Wall Trail is not only intended as a reminder of the years how we separated, and also to attract tourists from all over the world but also as a liaison between Berlin and the surrounding area as well as a place where East meets West, “said Ingeborg Junge-Reyer, Senator for Urban Development Berlin some time ago.

Of course, historical attractions using these bicycles are connected with the artificial cities around Berlin, or Germany globally. Facilities to provide the convenience of visitors, such as traffic signs, lines, and readiness for sale location – other than the former route and the remaining walls of the wall – well prepared. Apparently, citizens of Germany, and Berlin in particular, was ready to accept the darkest history of this country as a business opportunity from tourism.

Cultural heritage of this Berlin Wall, once a scourge for the people of Germany. Especially after 1989. Many of those who insist on throwing and bury the memory of the existence of the wall. While the fighters in the field of heritage conservation, including academics in the field of European heritage, refusing to forget the cultural heritage that any gloomy. So not funny, if the mover of cultural heritage conservation, Berlin never considered a bad example for conservation because Berlin Mauer barely left.

The seriousness of the Berlin government TBWT seen with complete maps plus the necessary information for visitors. Various historical info about the road, crossing roads, buildings, no one was missing, all presented to visitors both cyclists and pedestrians.

Really happy German citizens, or those who chance to come to Berlin, perhaps even living in the country. City wall, which was not the wall from centuries ago, now revived.

At least, turn on the memories, shared history, experiences, and of course education for the younger generation so that it did not happen. Moreover, the government of Berlin and then realized that what the black notes of the country, especially Berlin, which is divided into two, a business opportunity which will later be remembered as a sweet note for the development of Berlin and the German economy in general.
